FAQ

PARENT-MANAGED META ACCOUNTS SUPPORT

Beat Saber is popular among millions of players around the world. Our goal is to ensure a seamless experience for our players across different age groups and align with Meta's Responsible Innovation Principles and our commitment to building safe, positive experiences for young people at the forefront. Parent-managed Meta accounts will require parents to set up an account for their 10-, 11-, or 12-year-old. Preteens won’t be able to set up an account without their parent’s approval. Parents can visit Family Center to set up an account. Read more about Meta's Introduction of New Parent-Managed Meta Accounts for Families.

Parent-managed Meta Accounts are available on the Meta Quest platform - specifically on Quest 3 and Quest 2.

* Steam and PS VR platforms, and Quest 1 are not impacted.

The age setup for your Meta Quest accounts is done on the platform level when creating a player's account. Parents can go to Family Center to get started and set up an account for their preteen. Read more about Meta's Introduction of New Parent-Managed Meta Accounts for Families.

We are introducing Parent-managed Meta accounts in Beat Saber across the Meta Quest platform (Quest 3 and Quest 2). Based on the account's age, some content might be restricted to some groups. For example, some music packs won't be recommended in the game's main menu to preteen accounts due to the themes in some of the lyrics. Additionally, we're adding “Explicit Lyrics Toggle” to allow players to select their preferred experience in the future.

We are introducing this toggle to provide flexibility in the future. “Explicit Lyrics Toggle” empowers players to choose their preferred in-game experience, allowing them to opt in or opt out of songs and music containing explicit lyrics. The toggle is available on all platforms for users over the age of 13. Players using a parent-managed account for ages 10-12 on Meta Quest 2 and 3 will not see the toggle and their default setting will be “Hide Explicit Content” with no option to change it. For all other users, the toggle is first introduced to the player at the start of the game (once). As a default, the player will have explicit content visible, but the player can change this by clicking “Hide Explicit Content”. Players can always change their preference later in game options.

No, there aren't any songs with explicit lyrics in Beat Saber.

The base game's rating is IARC - 3+ , ESRB E - Everyone and PEGI 3.

GENERAL

Unfortunately, tracking isn't something we can influence in any way, the accuracy of the tracking depends on the platform and the device and is not connected with the game itself..

Note: Some PS VR players are experiencing problems with tracking while playing Beat Saber.

The most common situations are:

  • There is too much direct light in the room
  • The camera is wrongly positioned
  • The colour of the environment in the game projects to your room and matches the current colour of your Move controller.
  • For example: when the environment in the game is red and your Move controller has also red colour, the PlayStation Camera is not able to read the controller, thus tracking is not accurate.
  • If you are experiencing this problem try to turn off your TV while playing or lower the brightness of your TV.
  • If the issue still continues, it must be a hardware problem and you should contact PlayStation support.

We have seen this complaint several times and tried to replicate the situation in order to test it. In all cases, we found out that the player truly missed the note.
There is a chance the player was confused by the trail which follows after the cube, thus it seemed like the cube was cut.
If the game says 'bad cut' or 'miss' it is every time the correct information.

Beat Saber Multiplayer Cross-play is possible between Meta Quest and Steam platform.

Song FitBeat, all songs in the OST 1, OST 2, OST 3, OST 4, OST 5 and songs from Rocket League x Monstercat Music Pack are Content ID free. We plan the same for any of Beat Saber's upcoming OSTs. Unfortunately, we are not able to secure Content ID turned off for paid music packs which are coming from 3rd party labels. Since we are supporting the artists and their music, we respect their decision to keep Content ID turned on for their music.

Replace all batteries in your controllers with new ones and connect your headset to a different USB port.

First, check if you have disabled any Modifiers on the left side of the menu. This may be causing the issue you're experiencing.

Just restart your headset.

Cross-buy across platforms is not possible, but all players who purchased Beat Saber music packs through the Meta Quest Store will have all their music packs available as a cross-buy.

Yes, we are definitely planning to keep adding diverse music genres into Beat Saber so our game stays exciting for everyone and you have a chance to explore something new or play your favorite songs. Stay tuned!

No, we don't have a physical version of the game and we don't plan it.

META QUEST

1. Plug the Quest into your PC
2. Allow access to Data
3. Go to \Quest\Internal shared storage\Android\data\com.beatgames.beatsaber\files\
4. Backup all .dat files (e.g PlayerData.dat)
5. Reinstall Beat Saber
6. Copy all .dat files you backed up back to the Quest

The steps described above aren't working when you use any mods for Beat Saber. Unfortunately, we are not able to help you with this issue.

Unfortunately, this is not an issue on our side. Frame drops issue could be also caused by low battery or using mods. If you are using any mods, this can significantly influence performance on your Quest.

Change batteries in your controllers.

Check if you have the latest version of Beat Saber in your mobile phone Meta Quest App. Go to the app, find Beat Saber in the store, scroll down and change your game version to LIVE: 1.xx.xx (number of the latest update).

This feature is permanently turned off because of the copyright reasons. Beat Saber doesn't own streaming rights for some of the tracks in the game.

Meta Quest doesn't officially support Bluetooth headphones, thus using them can cause some lag.

No, this is not possible.

Yes, the App Sharing feature is available for all songs in the Original Soundtracks, Extras, and Camellia Pack. It isn’t available for paid Music Packs at the moment.

Your Meta Quest software might not be up to date. You can force the update in Quest Settings -> About -> Update now.

PLAYSTATION VR & PLAYSTATION VR 2

This is probably due to wrongly set up Floor Adjustment. Go to Game Settings and set where the floor is. After that, go to Player Settings and set up your correct height.

We plan to change this aspect in the game as it might be a bit confusing right now.

Note: If you have Floor Adjustment correctly set up, it doesn't matter if you stand too close or too far away from the point from which the cubes are coming. It doesn't have any impact on the game.

PS VR is a closed platform and custom levels together with user-generated content are currently not possible there.
We are not planning to add a level editor to the game on this platform.

No, if you already own Beat Saber on PS VR, you can upgrade to PS VR2 for free on the PS5 Store!

Go to the PS5 Store and redeem Beat Saber and every music pack that you own again.

Transfer of the progress from PS VR/PS4 to PS VR2/PS5 is not possible, unfortunately.

No, right now you can play only between PS4 and PS5 but not with other platforms.

Great news is that all 18 released music packs are now available in those regions! You can slash to the beats of hit artists like BTS, Imagine Dragons, The Weeknd, Lady Gaga, our latest release Queen, and more.

We're aware about this and we're planning to include advanced haptics in our next patch. We don't have an exact release date yet but will keep everyone updated.
